JINHOO JAKE KIM
Jinhoo is a senior at The Bishop’s School who discovered his passion for Go in 4th grade, captivated by both its endless possibilities and the almost “mind-reading” connections between players. After moving to La Jolla, he saw how Go could be more than a game—it could support cognitive health, strengthen community, and help prevent dementia. Inspired by this vision, he founded Go For A Better World in 2022, built on three pillars: advocacy, teaching, and curriculum development.
To share Go as a tool for healthy aging, Jinhoo takes part in many efforts—competing in social innovation competitions, helping organize community festivals, connecting with Go networks in Korea, the U.S., and Europe, and reaching out to senior living homes to create opportunities for engagement. Alongside teaching, he is developing his own research interest in Go’s potential to enhance cognition, well-being, and social connection.
His vision is to spread the goodness of Go in everyday life, building intergenerational communities and showing its real benefits for brain health and human connection.
