The Gateway to Go Workbook is now published, offering an easy-to-follow guide designed to introduce the game of Go to all age groups. Available in both Korean and English, this workbook provides a unique blend of storytelling and step-by-step learning to make Go accessible to everyone.
Gateway to Go is the first significant outcome of Go For A Better World’s year-long effort in pursuing its mission to reduce the risk of dementia by spreading Go widely and building an intergenerational Go-playing community. It serves as a key step toward promoting Go across all age groups. This workbook is innovative in five key areas: storytelling that highlights the historical and cultural context of Go, easy-to-follow five-step lessons, rapid mastery, the encouragement of a learning community, and free access.
The first part of the workbook introduces a variety of topics related to Go, from its rich history and cultural significance to the modern era of AI Go, all presented in a simple, concise, and engaging storytelling format. This section is designed to help readers become more familiar with the game of Go.
The second part serves as a comprehensive learning guide, structured in five stages that cover the essential rules of Go. Each lesson includes three steps: an introduction to the rules and concepts, explanations through real board situations, and problem-solving exercises for hands-on practice.
